Wye Valley Motors was founded 100 years ago in 1926 at Market House, Pontrilas, Herefordshire by 23 year old William (Bill) Morgan with a loan from his mother of £20 (circa £900 in 2026).
By 1930, Bill and his wife Flossie had commissioned a purpose built coach depot with car showroom at St. Martins Street in Hereford.
The company was initially known as ‘The Wye Valley Motor Services’ and as well as running bus services and coach tours, were dealers of SS (Jaguar), Singer and Hillman cars, as well as Bedford and Reo commercial vehicles, for which they offered a coach building service.
